(iv) The IMR library is responsible for the Non-Clinical Research Facility-Good Laboratory Practice (NCRF-GLP) archives. This adheres to the principles of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) which mandates an NCRF-GLP archive. An IMR library personnel is appointed to manage this archive and act as the Head of Archives to the work of the studies, as well as handle and secure the records and material of the NCRF-GLP.
(v) The National Journal Selection Committee (NJSC) and Western Pacific Region Index Medicus (WPRIM) database: In 2007, IMR was appointed as the coordinator for Malaysia, in the setting up of a regional database which holds participating countries’ local journals in health and medicine for the Western Pacific Region. With this appointment, the IMR librarian acts as the focal person and the IMR library is the Secretariat for the National Journal Selection Committee (NJSC) which is responsible for the selection of local journals that will be further screened and approved by the WPRIM Regional Journal Selection Committee. To date, based on the set criteria, NJSC has submitted 22 titles of local journals in health and medicine and all these have been accepted as content into the WPRIM database; these articles are now globally accessible through http://wprim.org. The IMR library has to ensure that the articles from these titles are indexed into the WPRIM database which is managed and hosted by the Institute for MedicalInformationChineseAcademy of Medical Sciences (IMICAMS) in Beijing, China. The IMR library’s task is to ensure that all articles are indexed, track new titles and promote visibility of local content worldwide.
