Welcome to Integrative Health Information Unit!

The Integrative Health Information Unit is a unit within the Herbal Medicine Research Centre (HMRC) dedicated to gathering and disseminating validated information on medicinal plants towards the establishment of integrated medicine. Since the establishment of the Unit in 2001 at Jalan Pahang, Kuala Lumpur, we have expanded our literature search capacity and human resource expertise in producing rapid reviews based on enquiries. Our office is now located in the National Institutes of Health, Setia Alam, Selangor. The main activities conducted by this unit focus on the compilation of information on medicinal plants in order to produce a comprehensive database containing ethnomedicinal and scientific information which serves as credible references for healthcare professionals, researchers, and the public.

The central theme for our research in Integrative Health Information Unit is evidence-based publications in the form of books (e.g., compendiums, monographs), technical reports, infographics, online articles, and journal papers. Our priority focuses on the latest issues pertaining to evidence-based information needed for herbal and T&CM. We’re currently in planning to develop this unit further involving bioinformatics approach for the discovery of new therapeutic potential leads based on medicinal plants against various pharmacological targets.
