The surveillance data was based on the antibiotic susceptibility testing of bacteria which were isolated from clinical samples of patients admitted to these hospitals.

The interpretive criteria for susceptibility or resistance were as outlined by CLSI Performing Standards for Antimicrobial Susceptibility testing guideline. When the interpretation zones were not available in the CLSI, the EUCAST guidelines were referred.

The data was collected from January until December 2015.

The analysis was based on one isolate per patient using the WHONET 5.6 software. The analysis will be carried out only if there were 30 or more isolates tested against the selected antibiotics. The percentage of resistance may be high in instances where the numbers of isolates tested were low.
