- to conduct basic and applied research in all aspects of infectious diseases, including biomedical, epidemiological, clinical and behavioral aspects.
- to provide relevant laboratory tests for diagnosis, surveillance and quality assurance program in infectious diseases.
- to participate in rapid response efforts during outbreaks by conducting research and developing diagnostic capacity and capability
- to conduct evaluation of new diagnostic kits, antimicrobial agents and insecticides
- to train relevant personnel and provide consultancy services in the management of patients with infectious diseases.
